Oracle plans to put Solaris on a quarterly patch their security. From now on, users of Sun Microsystems operating system will know when they will be security updates.
Oracle announced that it would take some of Sun's products into the Critical Patch Update their next. The update will include 16 security patches for Sun products: the Solaris, Sun Cluster, Sun Convergence and Sun Ray server software.
Previously, Sun released its security patches on the basis unintended. Now, Oracle will bring Sun's products on a quarterly patch cycle, making the process more predictable. Many software companies such as Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Adobe Systems will also accept the regular patch cycle similar.
As usual, Oracle also released several patches (7 out of 47) for database (DB) of them. However, no serious errors, such as a database of vulnerabilities were patched in the past. Oracle says the database is not going to be bug fixes which could be exploited remotely without a username / password for the database server. Oracle will also patch for E-Business Suite, Collaboration Suite, Fusion Middleware, Software Suite and Industry People Tools.
