Initial tests show that future AMD Black Edition 6 cores can reach up to 4.2 GHz.
This shows that our colleagues who have simply used a system of air cooling. They first reached maximum frequency of 230 MHz HyperTransport, and then increased multiplier, while adjusting the voltage. These are promising results which are a good sign for the new architecture of the green giant. The Opteron 12 bit cores out there have won and the next consumer models should be equally interesting for the greatest happiness of the competition and consumer welfare. We do not know what CPU was used, nor the exact voltage required, but the next official test Phenom II X6 1055T will soon confirm or infirner these initial results.
