Asus has announced the launch of SBC-06D1S-U, a combo external DVD drive Blu-ray/graveur using a USB 2.0 interfaces. Slim format, the SBC-U-06D1S-dimensional displays of 157 x 142 x 21mm and weighs 412 grams. It comes with a holder that allows placement of vertically.

With 2MB of buffer, the SBC-06D1S-U can play Blu-ray to a maximum speed of 6X. It is also capable of burning DVD-R and + R 8x, DVD-RW 6x, DVD + RW 8x, DVD + R and-R DL 4x, DVD-RAM 5x, CD -R and 24x CD-RW at 16x. The price and availability date of this drive are unfortunately not yet known.
