A few months ago, rumors on the possible updating of the SSD-based SandForce circulated: they stated that the update would require users to refer to SSD manufacturer. Fortunately they were wrong. Better, and unlike SSD-based Barefoot, the update does not require the erasure of DSS and it can be done directly under Windows. Indeed, Intel SSDs require booting from a CD or USB in DOS while other updates require even a complete erasure of the DSS.
In fact, OCZ and others have already developed a firmware update that fixes bugs in the firmware and improves performance in some cases. As usual with DSS, it is strongly recommended to take the last jour.Notons that program created by OCZ is the same for all manufacturers, SandForce being the only company to develop the firmware.
