Micron Technology will speed drive can store SSDs for business in June 2010 when sales began P300 drive for storage vendors. Kevin Dibelius, director of product marketing for Micron, P300 series will use the SATA 3.0 specification with speeds up to 6Gb/giay, instead of SATA 2.0 drives are used in the P200.

Mr. Dibelius said, with new higher standard, Micron SSD's performance superior to other hard drives, so that it drive even best rotational speed can’t reach speed 6Gb/giay connection between the drive and system as SATA 3.0. P300 To help achieve this speed, SSDs also use this new communication open NAND flash ONFI version 2.1, faster connections between the silicon and flash controller in SSD.

P300 drives made by Micron's 34nm process, with capacity of 50GB, 100GB and 200GB, send in form of samples delivered to carrier device in May 2010. He estimated company launch Dibelius storage device is on market in June 2010. Drive price equal to P200, are ever less used. Future SSD deliver speeds consider that Micron is able to fight with hard drives in storage system performance.

Mr. Dibelius said, because of high performance, SSDs start to change current hard drives in enterprise HDD expensive, as hard drive speeds 10,000 or 15,000 rpm. Late last year, Micron declared it use SATA interface ONFI 3.0 and 2.1 in multi-level memory cell SSD MLC, for separate users when it introduced its new C300 line drive. This is SSD lines were produced by company's 34nm technology. For now, line P300 SSD uses single-level memory cell technology SLC, more reliable and commonly used in flash storage system for enterprise.

P300 also has NAND management features are designed for use in long-term environmental online transaction processing business. These features include data protection path and automatically sort the data, avoiding the NAND memory cell array from being used too much. According to Micron, SSD is designed to use at least 5 years. Mr. Dibelius not say when the Micron will start using 25nm process for the production of SSDs.
