Intel has quietly launched two new processors yesterday. The first is the Core i5-680, which moved to the top of the range CLARKDALE (dual core, LGA 1156, 32 nm). Clocked at 3.6 GHz (3.9 GHz Turbo mode), it is sold at $ 294 per thousand, $ 10 more expensive than the Core i5-670 to 3.46 GHz.
The second is the Pentium e5550, resulting from the long line of Wolfdale. Also in socket 775, it boasts a 800 MHz FSB, 2 MB cache and a frequency of 2.8 GHz. All for $ 75 in 1000, the same price as the E6300 Penitum. The overclockers penniless probably prefer the e5550 which has a coefficient even higher (14).
