Top three rankings consist of Asian countries where South Korea is firmly in the top with an average internet speed of 11.7 Mbps, followed by Hong Kong and Japan, show Akamai study.

Technology Company Akamai has with his statement collected and analyzed data from its own server network from 198 countries and also measured specific sites speeds and IP address distribution. In this way, Akamai Technologies also was able to determine the fastest broadband cities in the world.

The fastest internet by with a population over 50,000 in the world is the American university Berkley with an average speed of 18.73 Mbps, followed by two other university cities in the United States, Chapel Hill and Stanford.
