Intel just introduced its latest laptop for underprivileged children, the Classmate, and announced that he will use an Atom processor Pine Trail.
The new model is a tablet with a rotating touch screen that can be used with a stylus or a finger. It also has the advantage of detecting the handful or the palm of the user so they do not interfere with his actions.
On a diagonal of 10.1 inches, the new Classmate has an endurance of 8.5 hours. The keyboard and screen (1024 x 600) are water-resistant and incorporate an antimicrobial coating. The hard drive is finally protected against shocks.
The processor is an Atom N450 running at 1.66 GHz. It is coupled with 1 GB of memory and a 160GB hard drive A DSS of 16 or 32 GB is optional. We finally find a webcam 1.3 megapixel version of Windows XP or Windows 7.
