Apple has decided to buy Intrinsity, Texas Company which is partly behind A4 in iPad. Intrinsity became popular when he designed a chip ARM mobile platform. Its processor, developed in partnership with Samsung, can run at 1 GHz while the core Cortex-A8 which was derived is in principle limited to 650 MHz.

The terms of agreement stay unidentified, but analysts talk of acquisition of 121 million. The only thing we know for now is that website of firm is no longer online and some staff has altered their LinkedIn account to show they are now working for Cupertino. This acquisition shows, though Apple designs its own chips to differentiate itself from its competitors.
