Microsoft had published April 13, a fix for Windows 2000 Server, correcting a flaw in Windows Media Services to execute code remotely. It is surprising to see Microsoft patched a 10 year old, but the system is being extended support since June 30, 2005 and the total will only July 13, 2010, which is why this patch on a late critical flaw.
More fun, the patch in question was removed April 21, because according to Microsoft it does not actually corrected the flaw. And yesterday, update was update to correct flaw in question eventually. Fortunately for Microsoft, this little blunder should not pose problems servers under 2000 version of Windows that utilize Windows Media Services does not have to walk the streets in 2010.
