Intel has declared that it will improved its Wi-Di in the tablets, netbook and smartphones to allow the transmission of HD video streams without the required for cable. Wi-Di is now used in some PCs to make easy the transmission of images to an HDTV. The Wireless Display the firm has made a cameo look during the CES 2010. The receiver attached to the TV uses a UWB controller, even as the computer uses a 802.11n Wi-Fi module that Intel has taken the trouble to reprogram.
The issue is that the technology is handicapped by DRM. It is so not possible to send such a video bought from iTunes or a protected DVD. Also, the number of compatible mobile Wi-Di is scarce and the necessary buy of a receiver is an additional disadvantage. In brief, here is a good idea badly exploited and a very limited scope.Intel has yet decided to start solving the issue of the availability of Wi-Di, promising to add this technology into all its future platforms. The firm also works with manufacturers of television sets that contain the receiver directly into their products, thus facilitating the approval of Wi-Di.
