Google has launched a Web browser add-on that will discontinue the browser from distribution information to the Google Analytics service, which Web sites can use to gather data about their visitors.
Google said it developed the tool "to offer website visitors by more option about how their data is collected."
Web site proprietor can incorporate Google's Analytics JavaScript system on their site to gather data such as while a person visits a Web site, if the person has been present prior to and the search terms a person used to find the Web site.
Analytics generate a cookie on a person's PC. Cookies are small data files used to record information about how a person interrelates with a Web site.
Google's novel tool, the Analytics avoid Browser append, said by the Analytics JavaScript that information on the Web site visit supposed not be send to Analytics.
Google's incentive in creating the add-on is probable suspicious in case it comes under pressure from regulator over privacy worry, said, president of the nonprofit Public Information Research group, and who runs the Google Watch Web site.
