Mozilla Corp. plans to present a Firefox request to Apple Inc.'s iPhone App Store next month, but it won't be a full-fledged Firefox browser, the company said.

In its place, Mozilla will inquire Apple to endorse Firefox Home, a by-product of the bookmark and tab synchronization technology it at present presents as an add-onto the Firefox desktop browser.

Mozilla will present the free application to the App Store inside the next three weeks. "Though, we have no method of telling if or when it will be accepted and available for download," said, a product manager at Mozilla, in an admission on the company's blog.

Firefox Home will provide consumers access to their browser bookmarks and history with to the open tabs from their most current Firefox sessions.

The iPhone application will also contain technology from Firefox's "Awesome Bar" the name Mozilla gave to the refurbish address bar in Firefox 3.0 that permits users search for previously-visited pages using keywords or characters in either the URL or the page title.
