Palm complete headlines when it was obtained through HP previous month. Because then, most of the headlines about Palm have had something to do with HP's tactics for Palm's WebOS operating system. Today, the smartphone company is in the information for a different cause: the company's Senior Director of Human Interface and User Experience, Matias Duarte, has left the company.
As somebody who oversaw consumer skill and interface, Matias likely played a enormous character in the design of WebOS so it's weird that he would depart right when the software was about to make the bound from smartphones to tablets. However, though Matias exit from Palm is report in itself, the exposure that he's leaving to join the Android side at Google as the new User Experience Director for the OS is more interesting.
Google hasn't launched an official declaration but Engadget news receiving verification from the search giant. Duarte before worked on the Sidekick with Andy Rubin, who is now head of Android at Google.
