Microsoft will shed further light on its cloud computing policy after that week at the yearly TechEd conference in New Orleans.
Whereas Microsoft's exact TechEd declaration haven't yet been exposed, some analysts are eager for details about Windows Azure, Microsoft's respond to Amazon's popular EC2 cloud platform.
But Microsoft's policy around Azure seems to be less well distinct than its other cloud ventures, and therefore might obtain a bigger focus at TechEd, analysts say.
"I anticipate them to create a major move" concerning Azure, says Burton Group analyst Drue Reeves, who consider Microsoft, has to walk a fine line with Azure, which delivers a cloud-based operating system, relational database and several other services.
Azure potentially poses a disagreement of interest for Microsoft, he says. Microsoft needs partners to utilize the Hyper-V virtualization technology and .Net software framework to construct cloud services, but the souk presence of Azure may deter cloud supplier from using those Microsoft technologies, Reeves says.
