Facebook proclaim that it will at present demand that developers confirm a Facebook account to generate novel apps on the service.

"We're taking this step to protect the honesty of Facebook Platform, make sure that every application is linked with a suitable and actual Facebook account," Niket Biswas, an engineer and technical project manager on the platform engineering team, said in an admission on the Facebook developer blog.

Developers can found they have a lawful Facebook account by verify their cell phone digit or addition a credit card to the account. Facebook need the same verification for client who desire to upload large video files.

Though Biswas didn't talk about rogue Facebook apps, the shift was obviously aimed at annoying to stop cybercriminals from structure bogus software that fools client into downloading other programs, counting pop-up spewing adware.

"That's not going to hurt one little bit," said Roger Thompson, the leader technology officer for antivirus company AVG Technologies, in an immediate message.

"Facebook is completely too open at the instant," Thompson added. "Anybody can be a developer, by no price to them at all."
