Microsoft has start upgrading cloud-based Exchange and SharePoint services to its 2010 offerings, but the relocation is predictable to last all year and many clients might see only a "preview" version of technology in 2010.

Exchange 2010 dispatch last November and SharePoint 2010 was launched in May of this year.

Microsoft's ambition is to present online clients the similar accurate capabilities they can anticipate from the on-premise version of software, but "it now takes us some time to advance the data centers to novel versions of Exchange server and SharePoint server," Chris Capossela, senior vice president of Microsoft's Information Worker Product Management Group, said in an meeting.

"By the ending of this year our major online clients will have updated versions, which are powered by 2010 servers," Capossela said.
