MTB with Ubuntu operating system will show in the first quarter of 2011, said Chris Kenyon. OS is a condensed version of Linux with touchscreen user interface easy.MTB is a handheld device with multitouch touchscreen and virtual keyboard . This will be the first penetrate of Canonical MTB market, where it will have to compete with Google's Android OS, Meego Intel and Apple are both used in the iPad.
Canonical has launched Ubuntu 4.10 is for server systems, PCs and netbooks. Though, the company has "larger objectives and not just a netbook," Kenyon said. Along with the input sensitivity and resize the screen, MTB basically different from the PC, Kenyon said.
Regarding hardware, the company will also talk about with the producers and manufacturers MTB parts for OS run faster while using less power, Keynyon said. The company has signed agreements with chip makers Freescale, Texas Instruments and Marvell for devices like netbooks and MTB.
Canonical has developed a version of Ubuntu from 2008 devices for mobile Internet access, but devices of this group was unable to take off. The company is looking towards a new generation of mobile products and other emerging forms. Though, there are no plans to launch a version of Ubuntu for smartphones.
