OCZ Technology launched a series of 1.8-in. solid state drives (SSD) to gives a storage upgrade for products like netbooks, ultra-thin notebooks and tablets. The new drives have the similar performance as their larger 2.5-in. counterparts, which are selling in the Vertex and Onyx product names, and come with a 3 year warranty and are rated for 2 million hr interim between failures.

Like larger SSDs, the flash devices offer user’s faster application loading, snappier data access, shorter boot-ups, and somewhat longer battery life for their PC. The drive is aimed at notebooks, netbooks, nettops, and tablet PCs.
