Microsoft reveal on Tuesday a beta version of WebMatrix, a free tool planned to make simpler Web application development based on Microsoft's ASP.Net Web platform.
Serving as an addition to Microsoft Web Platform for building and running Windows-based Web sites, WebMatrix is for developers of all ability levels.   it is downloadable at the WebMatrix website. "WebMatrix is a task-focused tool that is designed to create it actually simple to find started with Web development," said Scott Guthrie, corporate vice president in Microsoft Developer Division, in a blog post.
"It minimizes the number of concepts somebody wants to learn in sequence to get easy things done, and contain and incorporate all of the pieces essential to speedily build Web sites."
"This tool is free, offer core coding and database support, incorporate with an open source Web application gallery, and contain support to simply publish deploy sites and applications to Web-hosting contributor," said Guthrie. Developers using WebMatrix can build Web sites from scrape or download and modify applications accessible in Microsoft's Web Application Gallery.
As well part of WebMatrix download are IIS Developer Express, which is a lightweight server for building and testing ASP.Net Web sites; SQL Server Compact Edition 4, which an entrenched database engine; and ASP.Net programming extensions.
