The Beijing government's decision to renovate Google Inc.'s license to accomplish business in China might be a big step in a long process of discussions among Google and China to get a way to coexist.
Google proclaimed that China had renewed the corporation's Internet Content Provider (ICP) license, which allows the search giant to perform business there. There was extensive rumor over whether the Chinese government would renew Google's license after the public battles the two have been waging over restriction and privacy during the past six or seven months.
"This implies that relations are warming among both," said Rob Enderle, principal analyst at Enderle Group. "In fact, I believe this reflects concessions Google has most likely made that we don't recognize of still yet. China is historically very stiff. Google will require learning to cooperate with country if they want to continue there."
As per the Google spokeswoman Jessica Powell, Chinese authorities informed Google of the country's conclusion to renew license untimely. "We are very delighted that government has renewed our ICP license, and we are looking forward to continue to offer Web search and local products to our users in China," Google said in a blog post.
An analyst at market research company IDC supposed this footstep is different chess move in backward and forward of discussions amongst two superpowers.
"I believe Chinese authorities have revealed that they are open to practice some self-control when commerce with non-Chinese businesses," Reynolds said.
"This will be an ongoing process, and this might be a temporary cooperation from Chinese viewpoint. The terms of Google's Internet Content Provider license give Chinese multiple chances to return to terms of this relationship."
