The Chinese government has renewed Google's Internet Content Provider (ICP) license, the corporation proclaimed in an update to a previous blog posting.

"We are extremely pleased that government has renewed the ICP license and we seem ahead to continuing to supply web search and local products to our users in China," the updated post said.

Chinese authorities informed Google of conclusion Google spokeswoman Jessica Powell said. She presents no more comment. China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which appraisal the license, might not instantly be reached for comment.

The renewal is really nice news for Chinese Internet users, said Liu Ning, a principal analyst at technology consultancy BDA. "I believe Google is significant to China's search engine market," he said. If Google were to go from mainland China, search engine competitor Baidu would dominate the market, Liu said. "I don't believe this would be a good market land for Chinese users and advertisers."

"Google yet has a lot faithful users in China," he said. Google has been waiting to hear back from Chinese authorities regarding its ICP license as the corporation filed for its renewal previous week.
