Creating a dangerous move in mobile application development, Microsoft dispatch a beta version of its Windows&nbsp Phone 7 Developer Tools, but untimely reaction from a few developers was tepid.

The beta launches "a big landmark for everybody concerned in Windows Phone 7 within and external of Microsoft and we expect you share in our enthusiasm," the Windows Phone Developer Blog said. "With beta launch of tools, developers can build apps with a dispatch it' mindset." Windows Phone 7 was introduced in February, with initial phones using it due by this holiday series. Beta tools are obtainable at Windows Phone developer site.

But pairs of developers queried regarding Windows Phone 7 have been unimpressed until now. "A chance to comment on beta launch, though after attending the Mix 10 conference in March and hearing Windows Phone 7 messaging to developers, there easily wasn't anything said, nor said as, to induce to retrieve on bandwagon after many wasted years as a Windows Mobile ISV and MVP," said one developer.

"As many people, I am ignoring WP7 for now. Let's see if it gets any uptake when it dispatches," said self-employed mobile developer Simon Judge. An analyst cited Microsoft as a late arrival to the smartphone space.

"Well, Microsoft is working as quick as it can to get this phone program rolling but it approximately can't work speed enough, and phones can't strike the market fast sufficient as it is already a combine of generations of smartphones after," said analyst Al Hilwa, of IDC. "They require pulling all the stops to get developers eager because in some months at launch they need to accumulate a critical collection of applications to be seen as a major player."
