If it's correct and not just a mistake by whoever put jointly Ballmer's essential slides it opens up a pair possibilities.

On another side, maybe HP Windows’s slate is yet alive, as rumored and normally supposed due to HP's quiet on subject. Perhaps HP just get back to drawing board after seeing what iPad might do, or place the Windows 7 slate on backburner to fast-track a WebOS tablet.

Alternatively, the images over Microsoft’s list of partners contain a rotating tablet by a keyboard. HP has included one of those, running Windows 7, Touch smart tm2. I wouldn't be surprising if HP updated that laptop in fall, and Microsoft called it a slate for sake of promoting Windows 7's touch-friendliness.

Anyhow, with more than 20 corporation building Windows 7 slates this time, discuss the humanity of an HP applicant is debatable. Although was narrative when HP was only major corporations honestly talking about an iPad contestant, but that's barely the case anymore. I'd be more interested to hear regarding a WebOS tablet at this point as a minimum it'll be obvious from crowd.
