Approximately 83 million PCs were dispatched in second quarter of 2010, as per the latest figures from Analyst Corporation IDC and Gartner.
The whole dispatches for quarter are the same to an annual growth among 20 and 22 per cent from previous year, resultant in third successive quarter of dual-digit growth for PC market. Growth in Asia-Pacific market was mostly fast, at a 35 per cent annual increase in dispatch, or 27.8 million units, mainly thanks to increased sales of desktop PCs in May and June.
Netbook sales slowed considerably to 20 per cent growth, as per the Gartner, evaluate to 70 per cent successive growth seen in market from previous two years, majority probable due to a continued calm in consumer spending.
"The PC market stays healthy, and in a revival phase, in spite of challenges to a broader financial recovery, for example slow job growth and a more traditional viewpoint in Europe and Asia and Pacific," IDC research analyst, Jay Chou, said in a declaration.
"The factors which led to current PC rebound an aging commercial installed bottom, a propagation of cheap media-centric PCs, and low PC diffusion through a lot of the world remain key drivers going ahead."
