Apple organization confirmed deal with Poly9, a Quebec based mapping firm whose features may used to substitute Google Earth in its mapping application. Poly9 is the second mapping company Apple has taken over in this year, following the deal with Placebase, which features interface technology similar to Google Maps. Poly9 Globe is believe a Flash-based version of Google Earth.

Apple has not reveal the plans to do with the Poly9 technology, but some co-workers think it will be used to upgrade iPhone mapping application.
