Wikipedia is world's well known encyclopedia on the web, with more than 15 million articles in 272 languages. But the realityis that the most of those articles are in a few languages like English, French, and German The Google Translate team working hard to make that content usable to a amount of smaller languages.looking forward to do so, they have appointed volunteers in Africa, India, and the Middle East to interpret content into Arabic, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Swahili, Tamil, and Telugu.
Google is picking the content to be translated grounded on several standards.
They used Google search data to decide the most popular English Wikipedia articles read in India, the site wrote. "Using Google Trends, we found the articles that were repeatedly read, and not just temporarily popular. With the help of Translator Toolkit they translate articles that either did not exist or were popular articles or short article in Hindi Wikipedia.The team has already converted 600,000 words from English to Hindi, popularity of Hindi version of the online encyclopedia by nearly 20 percent. Google said it used a combination of human and machine translation.
