A new computer-aided dispatch system (CAD) is to be initials in a veer of major IT projects aimed at removal Tasmanian Department of Police and Emergency Management (DPEM) of outdated and not backed up information systems.

The new CAD, being applied as part of DPEM's Information Technology Infrastructure and Strategic Reform Program 2015, will restore its 20 year old heritage Command and Control System which was intended and residential internal.

The event and resource management system permits DPEM operators to maintain track of staff, and as well contains a radio dispatch service for call-taking, dispatch and coordination services for all emergency police operations in Tasmania. The new CAD will permit for incorporation with a presented geographical information system for prospect utilize by an automatic vehicle location system.

The system will as well interface with an excess of DEPM systems, a few of which are schedule for substitute under 2015 reorganization program. These contain a stolen motor vehicle system, a motor registry system, a vehicle database, a geospatial mapping client, and criminal history database.
