Microsoft start providing this week an ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) procedure template geared to the Scrum nimble development methodology.

Visual Studio Scrum 1.0 works with corporation's Team Foundation Server 2010 ALM server and can be downloaded from Visual Studio Extension Manager. A process model features a set of files that define process components of a team project on Team Foundation Server. It contains definitions of team work items, questions, builds, reports and SharePoint portal capabilities.  

Microsoft on its download site explains Scrum "an iterative, incremental framework for project management and supple software development."

Scrum has become one of leading project management methodologies in current years and is rapidly becoming an evasion option for new teams plus teams looking to progress their presented processes," said S. Somasegar, senior vice president of Microsoft Developer Division, in a blog post. "Whereas MSF Agile template can be utilized efficiently by Scrum teams, we found that there was strong order for a regulatory Scrum template a template that pursues the Scrum methodology from apex to base that uses Scrum terminology during."
