Rambus, a developer of chip expertise, said Monday that the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) ruled in his favor against the graphics chip manufacturer Nvidia for supposedly took place in three of nine patents said. Four of the existing patents in the original complaint have been withdrawn from the study and two were deemed valid, Rambus said in a statement.

The complaint against Nvidia tried to block importation and sale in the U.S. of products containing chips that infringe Rambus patents. These products include NVIDIA GPUs and chipsets that use memory controllers illegal. The complaint also named customers including Hewlett-Packard Nvidia, Asustek Computer, Gigabyte Technology and Micro-Star International (MSI).

The ITC has not issued a decision in the Rambus website and said the final decision has not yet been released, but the chip maker said that the ITC issue a limited exclusion order prohibiting the importation and sale of products that infringe on three patents turned out to be valid.
