Apple announced Safari for Mac and PC. Its 5.01 Safari allows you to add extensions such as browser widget on email messages and news. Safari users can now add features into their Web browser through Safari Extensions Gallery or from the websites of the individual developer. Safari extension helps it stand on equal footing with other browsers like Firefox and Chrome, the browser also offers 3rd party add-on to enhance browser functionality.

Internet Explorer also supports the extension but they are not popular like Chrome and Firefox. Similarly Chrome, Safari extensions of the form will update, and Apple said users do not need to restart your browser to complete the installation.

Apple said it will use digital signatures to certify all extensions from 3rd party Safari, to prevent forgery, as well as ensure the extension is updated right from the first three developers. Apple did not specify if the certification is how, despite its ongoing certification extensions Safari also through a ratification process.
