Samsung Electronics Corporation proclaimed what it's known as the world's highest-thickness HDD for desktop systems.
The 3.5-in EcoGreen F4, or 4FEG, offers equal to 2TB capacity in three 667GB platters. Samsung said platters can stock up to 880 hours of DVD video or 500,000 MP3 songs. The interior F4EG drive presents superior performance, lower power utilization and better reliability than older EcoGreen hard drives.
For instance, Samsung's prior EcoGreen F3 HD as well presented 2TB capacity but on four 500GB platters. The three-disk F4EG enhances standby performance by 19% and utilizes 23% less power in standby mode than F3EG, the corporation said.

The new drive contains a 3.0 Gbit/sec SATA interface, Native Command Queuing and a 32MB buffer memory.
