Intel's gaining of security company McAfee might help the chip maker formulate a splash in the handheld and embedded markets, in which the company has resist to set up a presence, according to analysts.
Intel on Thursday declared strategy to obtain McAfee, saying this will assist the chip maker merge superior hardware and application security to guard devices from internal and external threats. Hardware and application changes will get better both Intel and McAfee products, and direct to enhance safety for products series from servers to mobile devices, Intel stated.
"The bottom line is this will improved protect Internet users and their devices," stated Intel CEO Paul Otellini, in a conference call to discuss the acquisition. The first benifits of the strategic partnership will be released in the untimely 2011, stated Renee James, senior vice president of Intel's Software and Services Group, through the call.
