Lyric chip design can help calculate the probability in applications such as search and spam filtering 1,000 times faster than the PC based on x86 processors, Lyric Semiconductor is working on a processor (microprocessor)which is designed to calculate the probability that can considerably increase PC performance in particular applications.
Lyric was established back in 2006 by Ben Vigoda, who has a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and David Reynolds, expert of lots of semiconductor companies. Lyric has acquired above 20 million financing from venture funds firm Stata Venture Partners, the agency DARPA (U.S. Defense Advanced Research Project Agency) under the Ministry of Defense and a range of government agencies.
GP5 chip lyric describes as "the probability processing platform programmable multi-function" and stated the chip could help make the probability calculations 1,000 times faster than current computers based on x86 processors from Intel or Advanced Micro Devices. GP5 chips intentional for use in software such as search query handling, fraud finding, spam filter, financial form and genome sequencing. The Company plans to make form of GP5 in 2013.
