Dell is probable to carry its Streak tablet to Asia-Pacific markets early next year, a company managerial stated yesterday. "We have not yet proclaimed the development plans for Streak in Asia. I believe the early part of next year we'll see that product," said Steve Felice, president of Dell's small and medium business unit, during a conference call with reporters.
The Streak, which is already on sale in the U.S. and Europe, sports a 5-inch touch display, runs Google's Android OS, and packs a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor beneath its hood. The tablet has two cameras, integrate a front VGA camera, and can attach to Wi-Fi and 3G networks. The 3G capability lets the Streak to be used as a phone, albeit one that's larger than the majority other handsets.
Dell is selling the Streak in the U.S. for US$300 with a two-year service contract from AT&T. The tablet sells for $550 devoid of an agreement. Asian users will see Dell's aero handset hit more local markets previous to the Streak arrives.
