According to Dave McAllister, the chief position for Adobe to Open Source and Standards segment, where at Microsoft's previous role as the most substantial opponents of open-source efforts over Oracle. First point of his vision that he described in his website, is the resolution of the Open Solaris Government Board (OGB). The OGB served on Sun-Times as the interface between the Open Solaris community and Sun was from Sun after the gaining, but Oracle has been ignored.
The withdrawal of the OGB illustrate very well how the "axis of evil, about 850 miles south migrated", from Microsoft headquarters in Redmond to Redwood Shores in California, where Oracle has its principal place of business. In addition to the resolution of the OGB and the action because of patent and copyright infringement against Google McAllister suggested further direction for Oracle's open source efforts. The only question was what was next in the series.
Adobe's open source chief has no issues with it that companies want to make money with open source, but if the companies participating in open-source projects back out, although these have proven evidence that they were financially successful. Oracle was smart employees, the Open Source and its influence on developers understand, McAllister notes. However, he draws the conclusion that Oracle Open Source seems suddenly alone as a new cash cow.
