As the industry call for cloud interoperability grow keener, open-source venture software company Red Hat has submitted its cloud platform, Delta cloud, to the DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force) as a potential standard for cloud interoperability, the company stated.

"We do not want Delta cloud to be beneath the organize of any one particular vendor, including Red Hat. If you desire true interoperability and true portability, you require a third-party governance arrangement," said Red Hat cloud product manager Bryan Che during a webcast exactness the company's cloud-computing road map.

Beyond Red Hat, a number of additional cloud service suppliers are also tackling the trouble. Rackspace and U.S. government space agency NASA launched an open-source collection of cloud enabling software called Open Stack.
