After few months revealing edition 2 of the venture version of its open-source cloud software, Eucalyptus Systems has placed a fresh edition of the software's base platform, the business announced on Wednesday. Additionally to the normal round of bug fixes, this new edition of the software features a number of developments that should give it more flexibility and scalability within venture back-end systems, stated Marten Mickos, CEO of Eucalyptus Systems.
Using the similar application programming interfaces (APIs) that Amazon organize for its Amazon Web Services (AWS), Eucalyptus let users to set up their own confidential clouds and move workloads between internal servers, or to and from AWS. The software is accessible both as free, open-source code and as a paid edition.
The version proclaim yesterday, also numbered version 2.0, is dissimilar from the 2.0 venture version in that the enterprise product uses a pre-2.0 release of the open-source base software, Mickos clarify. He apologizes for the possible uncertainty that the equal numbering may cause.
