hackers are attempting to take advantage of the reality that lot of users will presently have to update their edition of the TweetDeck Twittersoftware. On Monday, TweetDeck admonished that some Twitter contents were notifying people to upload an untrusty executable file, named as tweetdeck-08302010-update.exe.
"These tweets are from hacked accounts and this updates are not released by us. Donot follow the tweets and download the update," TweetDeck said in a post on its support page. The application is a generic Trojan horse program that is not detected by majority of antivirus software, stated a researcher with Trend Micro. This kind of application is used to download a range of different malicious program such as password-stealing keyloggers. Users of the older edition of TweetDeck finally have to update their applicatio Tuesday, as Twitter is awaited to pull support for a application interface used by TweetDeck releases prior to version 0.33.
