Ping is Apple's music-centric social network that is incorporated into iTunes 10. From a concealment viewpoint, it's fairly straight as opposed to Facebook's large number of privacy settings but then once more, Ping is also identical fixed as to what services it offers. In either situations, here's a speedy run-down of the privacy characteristics present in Ping. Ping is off by default, but when you click Ping in the source list on the left-hand side of the primary iTunes window, you'll be delivered with a message identifying what Ping is, and a button that allows you opt in to Ping.
Once you switch Ping on, you'll get a stepwise wizard that accepts you though setting up your account profile and adapting your privacy settings. Ping needs you to offer your name and gender; the remain of the fields for your location, image, and bio can be left empty. Note that if you alter the name displayed for your Ping profile, it varies the billing name for your whole iTunes account. It is not a best feature particularly for those who might use their full names for billing intentions, but go by a nickname otherwise.
