Citrix and Cisco Systems are collectively providing a software for functioning a large amount of virtual desktops across an organization. The estimate behind the as-yet-unidentified offering is to "contribute simplicity to the desktop market," stated Jackie Ross, a Cisco vice president. The package integrated with Citrix's XenDesktop, which is VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) application that downloads an operating system to a desktop PC from a centralized pool of servers. The

package also incorporated with Cisco's merged Computing System, an incorporated collection of blade servers, switches, storage adapters and networking fabric. By teaming up with Cisco, Citrix is desiring to recognize its offering in the glowingly herded VDI space, which also integrates products such asVMware View and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization. The basic starter kit will supply remote access for up to 300 users. The companies will offer expansion packs, as Ross depicted them, for an extra 400 users per pack. The system ought be capable to scale to tens of thousands of users, Ross stated.
