Online survey by source recently showed that about 1 / 3 U.S. small businesses had been attacked by security staff using social networking. Accordingly, source has conducted the first online survey with 315 employees in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the U.S. on May 7 / 2010 recently. Survey results showed that the most used Facebook with 69.3% rate, Twitter - 44.4%, YouTube - 32% and LinkedIn - 22.9%.


According to this survey, only around 1 / 4 SME business actually disable (not allowed access) and related social networking website, most use filtering gateway. Meanwhile, the practice shows, social networks are being widely used for research, finding information, PR and advertising and selling products, besides wishing to participate in social networking as movements save the majority of employees in enterprises

Sad news from the survey is a 38.2% feedback regarding the status reduced work performance, 33.3% related to malware infection and 23% related to maintenance privacy. Relating to the confidentiality of personal information, FaceBook leading risk leakage rate 73.2%, 50.7% Twitter, LinkedIn YouTube 29.6% and 16.9%. With the infection malware, Facebook also continue to lead with 71.6%.
