Cloud.com said they are working with Microsoft to implement open source project OpenStack compatible with virtualization technology Hyper-V Microsoft. Rackspace and NASA began the project last month OpenStack 7 / 2010 with the aim of making it easy for enterprises to migrate data and applications from the cloud to another cloud. Rackspace Cloud Files contributed code to run Cloud Servers and their technology; NASA contributed software platform to run their Nebula clouds.

OpenStack has assisted virtualization Xen, KVM, QEMU and User Mode Linux. But without support for virtualization technology Hyper-V by Microsoft, many customers are running a business combination of Microsoft technology and non-Microsoft can be difficult to take advantage of OpenStack.

Cloud.com developing code that will make OpenStack compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V (Microsoft provides technical guidance and architecture for Cloud.com). The company did not say when they expect to complete the job. When OpenStack was announced, the 35 companies (including Dell, Intel, AMD, Rightscale and Citrix) said it would support OpenStack.
