Marvell has introduced the Armada XP quite a powerful ARM processor with four cores. It is intended primarily for small servers, clocked at 1.6 GHz and will be particularly efficient. As the fastest ARM processor on the market, Marvell has announced the Armada XP. The SoC (System on a Chip) integrates four ARM v7-cores at 1.6 GHz with various interfaces. The chip has 2 MB of L2 cache and offers a 64-bit interface for connection of DDR3 memory with ECC, which is clocked at 800 MHz.

Additionally, the Armada XP four PCIe interfaces and four Gigabit Ethernet ports, multiple USB and SATA ports. Here, the present SERDES-Lans be divided and used for PCIe, SATA and other interfaces. The chip is to achieve a power of 10 watts a computing power from 16,600 Dimps. Marvell will demonstrate the Armada XP on the ARM Technology Conference publicly this week and already supplies from first samples to customers.
