Intel has launched a new program called Upgrade Service that will come out some advanced features in software processors present in society. At the time the option is only available on the North American market and covers the processor from 2.8 Ghz Pentium G6951. The update is available at a cost of $ 50.

Through Intel Pentium G6951 Upgrade Service on two fundamental changes are made. On the one hand is enabled an additional megabytes of L3 cache that the closed door available to 3 MB to 4 MB. Also is enabled Hyper-Threading that like in the old Pentium 4 doubles the number of core recognized by the operating system.

Overall then the Upgrade Service seems to be able to provide a performance increase of imported approaching the G6951 to an equivalent Pentium class processor core, with whom he shares for the architecture. The program therefore seems to present itself as an alternative upgrade hardware and could in future be incorporated on other models. For more details refer to the Intel site.
