According to a recent poll, four years after the launch of the console ribbon of Microsoft's Office suite, businesses remain cautious with it. Ribbon interface first appeared in Office 2007, looks like ribbon (ribbon) large display at the top, replacing the menus (menu) drop-down, small icons and toolbars of Windows applications since many decades.
Dimensional Research poll conducted more than 950 leaders, managers and IT staff. Analyst Diane Hagglund of Dimensional Research said 45% of these identified, training users on the ribbon is a concern. This figure more than double the percentage who said they were worried about the stability and reliability of software. It also significantly higher than the percentage who expressed concern about the non-training issues and compatibility issues ribbon add-on.
Although Microsoft claims that training issues were exaggerated, the user has sharply criticized the ribbon in Office 2010 (released many months ago) and Office for Mac 2011 (newly launched). Only 20% of organizations surveyed have deployed Office 2010, noted Ms. Hagglund. She said complexity increase on the computer is a potential reason for the delay.
