After having released the 2.2 update, codenamed FroYo (Frozen Yoghurt) in May this year, Google is readying one of its next versions of Android 4.0, which would in all probability be called Ice¬Cream. Google has had a legacy of naming the Android releases after desserts in alphabetical order. It started with Cupcake (Android 1.5), Doughnut (1.6), Eclair (2.0) and the latest FroYo (2.2). The company has already confirmed the names of subsequent versions -- Gingerbread (3.0) and Honeycomb (3.5) but has kept mum on further releases. A few people have been speculating about what the name beginning with an I could be. However, recently, the president of ARM, one of the world's largest manufacturers of chips for smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices, Tudor Brown, confirmed that the next version would indeed be called Ice-Cream.
