E-mail addresses plus password items for 200,000 registered users of Gawker sensitives websites are now disseminating on peer-to-peer networks after a period of time hack attack. The company warned users to change their passwords -- letting in on other sites, if they use the same passwords elsewhere.
The sites affected include Lifehacker, Gizmodo, Gawker, Jezebel, io9, Jalopnik, Kotaku, Deadspin plus Fleshbot. Users are commanded to register, allowing for their e-mail address plus a password, in dictate to leave comments on those websites.
A group named "Gnosis" exacted credit for the assault. The compromised data is now available in a 487 MB file, which can be downloaded from peer-to-peer networks using a torrent now furnished on The Pirate Bay. Other information in the file admits something called "gawker_restyle_beta.jpg" as well as Gawker's server kernel versions.
