Toshiba Corp. on Wednesday launched its latest family of solid-state drives intended for enterprise applications. The drives are based on single-level cell memory and boast large work and rock-solid dependance. The drives are based on Toshiba’s own controllers and hence will be largely different than answer given by competitors.
Present in capacities of 100GB 200GB and 400G the MKx001GRZB family of SSDs send random remains of 90 000 read and 17 000 write IOPS and systematic remaining 510MB/sec read and 230MB/sec write throughout. This realizes read speeds more than 3 times rapidly than for Toshiba's present enterprise HDD according to the company.
The drives needs 6.5W for work which is higher compared to SSDs by few other companies but thanks to high I/O performance Toshiba announces industries leading power efficiency rating of 13 800IOPS/watt. The SSDs come in 2.5 form components and with Serial Attaches SCSI interface.
The enterprise grade SSD drives from Toshiba are based on single stage cell NAND flash memory from Toshiba and are the industries first 32nm SLC related drives for enterprises. Toshiba says that controllers for the MKx001GRZB solid state drives looks know how in controller and firmware graphics for business HDDs.
