The spokesperson of the companyannounced that this decision is taken so as to give the developerssome more time to create the necessary apps for tablet that will makeit useful for the U.S. customers.

In a blog post written by the Dell’spresident of China and South Asia, the company is planning to launchits Android tablet in China in the summers of 2011. In his blog post,Amit Midha has written that in the last half of the year the companywill evaluate the success of the product and then take furtherdecisions about launching the tablet in other countries.

China has a vast market and this haslured Dell to launch its tablet in the Chinese market first. Dell hastaken this step precisely as it is the time when a lot of people inChina are going online. Midha wrote that the customers will be ableto buy the Dell’s tablet from over 10,000 locations in China. Thecompany has left no stone unturned to attract the customers to buythis fantastic product.


Dell is treating China as the testingground for its tablet as it also has plans to launch its 10 inchtablet in U.S and Europe. Tablets across the world are famous for theapps that are offered as a part of their service. But in China theusers would face difficulty in accessing the apps as the Google’sAndroid is not present in the nation.

The China and South Asian President forDell said that the company will learn from its mistake in China andthen devise further strategies related to its product. In fact thecompany has plans to provide a better experience to its users bygiving the developers ample of time to create robust apps.Surprisingly, this is not the first time that Dell has launched itsproducts in developing markets. Dell had launched its first eversmartphone in 2009 in the market of Brazil and China.

According to Sun Peilin, an analystwith Beijing-based research firm Analysys International, China is thebest market for Dell to sell its 10 inch tablet. This is true as mostof the other markets are already dominated by iPad devices. In fact,in China as well 78% of the tablet market is occupied by Appleleaving some room for the competitors. According to a research firmGartner, the tablet sale in china is expected to rise by 600, 000reaching a mark of 4.5 million units this year.

Besides, Dell other competitorsincluding Lenovo and Motorola too are launching their Android Tabletsin China this year. China already has some local tablet vendors inthe market using Android white boxes. Dell is better positioned thanthem and can surely grab the market share.
